About us and our vision
Welcome to School Events - Maths, Music & 11+ Books and Online Competitions.
We’re proud to support children across the UK as they develop their love for maths, music, and 11+ problem solving through our engaging online competitions and educational e-books available in English and Welsh.
School Events began as a simple idea and quickly grew in encouragement from parents and students. Today, we offer a dynamic experience where students can take part in online maths music and 11+ competitions alongside our e-book range. We hope all students explore learning through our structured, enjoyable, and accessible resources.
Our team is passionate about inspiring learners of all abilities. With beloved book characters Lily, Edward and Anya guiding children from nursery to Key Stage 5 & all musical grades. School Events e-books help students grow with confidence at every stage of their journey and are available to purchase without competition entry, written in English and Welsh.
At the heart of everything we do is the belief that learning should be accessible, enjoyable, and empowering. We live by the motto Docendo Discimus “By teaching, we learn”. School Events are here to support your child’s development every step of the way!

A Warm to School Events from -
Tim Bedford B.Mus (Hons), RAM, M.A
'I am delighted to welcome you to School Events and to share a little about the work I lead across our maths and music projects. Inspiring every learner’s confidence has always been at the heart of my teaching, and I am thrilled to bring that passion to the exciting competitions we offer.
Through our individual maths and music challenges, pupils have the opportunity to strengthen their learning year after year. Every paper is designed to hopefully, spark curiosity, and encourage ongoing improvement in whichever field they choose to explore'.
My Maths & Music Experience
'As a senior advisor guiding School Events into 2027 and beyond, I enjoy blending curriculum learning with imaginative mathematical ideas. I’m a quantum enthusiast and have long been inspired by 60 Symbols and Tom Rocks Maths, whom I’ve previously had the pleasure of working with'.
'Alongside my love of mathematics, I am a classically trained commercial composer from the Royal Academy of Music, where I studied under Professor Nick Ingman. My career has taken me from creating music for over 100 television programmes to composing iconic adverts for brands such as Duracell and Persil. I’ve also had the privilege of performing with Sir Elton John and for Princess Diana'.
'My interest in maths has always been strong and linked to my musical work from sound design and frequency analysis to exploring the behaviour of waves. These studies formed the foundation of my Master’s Degree in Music Technology at The University of Bangor, North Wales'.
Looking Ahead
'I am truly excited to be part of School Events and to contribute my experience, creativity, and enthusiasm to our maths and music projects in the years ahead. I look forward to supporting pupils, parents, and schools as we continue to celebrate learning, achievement, and enjoyment!'
