A Warm Welcome to School Events from Mr Timothy Bedford B.Mus (Hons), RAM, M.A

I am delighted to welcome you to School Events and to share a little about the work I lead across our maths and music projects. Inspiring every learner’s confidence has always been at the heart of my teaching, and I am thrilled to bring that passion to the exciting competitions we offer.
Through our individual maths and music challenges, pupils have the opportunity to strengthen their learning year after year. Every paper is designed to hopefully, spark curiosity, and encourage ongoing improvement in whichever field they choose to explore.
My Maths & Music Experience
As a senior advisor guiding School Events into 2026, I enjoy blending curriculum learning with imaginative mathematical ideas. I’m a quantum enthusiast and have long been inspired by 60 Symbols and Tom Rocks Maths, whom I’ve previously had the pleasure of working with.
Alongside my love of mathematics, I am a classically trained commercial composer from the Royal Academy of Music, where I studied under Professor Nick Ingman. My career has taken me from creating music for over 100 television programmes to composing iconic adverts for brands such as Duracell and Persil. I’ve also had the privilege of performing with Sir Elton John and for Princess Diana.
My interest in maths has always been strong and linked to my musical work from sound design and frequency analysis to exploring the behaviour of waves. These studies formed the foundation of my Master’s Degree in Music Technology at The University of Bangor, North Wales.
Looking Ahead
I am truly excited to be part of School Events and to contribute my experience, creativity, and enthusiasm to our maths and music projects in the years ahead. I look forward to supporting pupils, parents, and schools as we continue to celebrate learning, achievement, and enjoyment!

We are delighted to announce that we are campaigning to be recognised by OFQUAL and Qualification Wales. If they approve our submission, we hope to being able to offer regulated competitions and UCAS points by 2027.

THE SCHOOL EVENTS FOUNDATION

We are in the process of making this branch of the company gain official charitable status. We are actively looking to establish 'The School Events Foundation'. This will be our newest and most heartfelt branch of the company, a dedicated initiative created to give back to every community across the UK through fundraising activities. For every child who takes part in our programmes, we contribute a set amount of free competition entries and e‑books for families who might not otherwise have access to our opportunities.
This initiative ensures that children, regardless of circumstance, can experience creativity, confidence, and joy through our events and that schools feel the benefit directly within their own communities.
Register your school to take advantage of this free contribution and bring these opportunities to every family in your school community.
